Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Women Wing Central Vice President Khyber Pakhtunkwa Neelum Khan Toru organized a breast cancer awareness session in Saidu Shareef where a team of doctors provided free of cost medical assistance to women.
The medical examination camp was organized in connection of the breast cancer month activities. Scores of women from different walks of life participated in the camp and availed the medical facility.
A team of lady doctors of from Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar visited Saidu Sharif in Swat for the breast cancer awareness session. A team of 20 doctors and medical staff reached in the camp for the medical examination of the females of the area. The medical team arranged an awareness session on self examination on breast cancer.
PTI leader Neelum Khan Toru said that timely diagnosis of breast cancer could lead to ninety percent cure and stressed upon women not to neglect their own well-being because healthy women contributed more productively towards society.
She said that it was important for women to be aware about diseases concerning with them in particular, mainly breast cancer. Expressing concern over Pakistan ranking top among Asian countries with rising number of breast cancer patients, she said awareness among women was an effective way to prevent late stage diagnosis.
Participating women were examined by an all-female team of doctors from and those diagnosed with lumps and other symptoms of breast cancer will be facilitated further in Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar.
PTI leader Neelum Khan said that any patient found with the symptoms of the disease will be provided medical assistance in Lady Reading Hospital. The activity was organized at DDAC office MPA Fazal Hakim Khan.
