Right after assuming the charge of vice president of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Raja Muhammad Anwer has shifted his focus towards industry-government connect.
“In pursuit of establishing a strong liaison for bilateral relationships between provincial government and industrial sector, we are acting as a bridge,” he added. “We have to have a two-way bond in order to present our concerns, reservations and suggestions to the provincial government, and we are leaving no stone unturned to present our case, loud and clear. FPCCI has been successful in taking up the issue of Jhelum and Chakwal chambers with the provincial government. Approvals have been given by the government for the transfer of land for both the chambers,” according to a statement.
“As soon as we get the possession, we shall initiate construction work on the sites for Jhelum and Chakwal Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Both the cities have contributed massively towards the industry and unfortunately, there existed no formal set up for the chambers earlier. Our priority is to get due share for all sectors, for all chambers, for all trade bodies and for every industrialist who has been a strong economic pillar for the province and the country. Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry has taken the lead in giving voices to the unheard business segments and FPCCI shall continue to act as one strong platform for the trade bodies and business sector promotion in a more organized way, also in the future,” Raja added in the statement.
The FPCCI vice president has also invited proposals and recommendations from all the chambers of Punjab. A formal request letter has been sent to Chambers of Commerce and Industry seeking budget proposals for the fiscal year 2021-2022. “As soon as all the proposals are received, we shall share a combined strategic plan for the coming financial year with the provincial government, so that government could come up with a business-friendly budget keeping in view industries’ demands and suggestions.”
